Welcome to GP Care Services

Local, community care and support is at the root of all we do. Every process we create, every decision we make is with patients in mind.

Every day we work to make care within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale accessible for all patients. We respond to each patient as an individual, and treat everyone with dignity and respect.

Our goal is to build community relationships. We work to ensure GPs have more time and knowledge on how best to treat you. How? We introduced more support services such as: 

- 7 day access to GP appointments providing evening, weekend and bank holiday appointments

- A partnership with integrated Neighbourhood Care Teams

- GP Care support to ensure local GP locum cover is easy and hassle free

- A partnership with Intermediate Tier Services  

- Domiciliary and Paediatric phlebotomy

- Community Gynaecology Service for Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale

 

Our services strengthen GP and patient relations. We offer expertise and care at the heart of the community to give patients a greater sense of well being

Our new commuity based gynaecology clinic 

 

We are proud to announce the launch of a new Community based Gynaecology Clinic which operates from different sites around the borough. This is great news for patients as it may avoid a trip to hospital for diagnostic and minor treatment procedures which can easily be done in a local health centre. Find out more about our Community Gynaecology Clinic in our 'services' section above. The service will be run by Dr Uma Marthi who has extensive knowledge and experience in gynaecology. Here's what Dr Marthi has to say about the service;

'I would like to thank GP Care services and their admin team for supporting my passion, I am very happy that we can offer a gynaecology service within the community again. Simple solutions and advice can make a huge difference to women and this will be very rewarding for all involved.

 Together, we wanted to create an easily accessible service for women within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale that offered a 'one-stop-shop' for assessment, treatment and aftercare for most gynaecological problems. We have all worked really hard to get the clinics up and running with the aim of helping more women get access to appropriate care. I also hope that we are able to educate the GP trainees in Primary Care gynaecology sometime in the near future.  

 Unfortunately, I feel there are women still suffering in silence with gynaecological issues and I hope this new service gives them the confidence to attend one of our clinics and get the treatment they need and deserve.’

 

A warm welcome to our new Chair of the Board 

Dr Saj Azfar has now superseded Dr Hussain as Chair on the Board of Directors for GP Care Services Ltd. Dr Azfar is currently working closely with members of the Board and all members of staff to ensure we are in-line with the new General Data Protection Regulation rules. Dr Azfar is now the Caldicott Guardian and Data Protection Officer for GP Care Services Ltd.

The Village Medical Centre 

 

GP Care Services are delighted to announce that The Village Medical Centre in Littleborough has been out of special measures since August 2017 after being recognised as making significant improvements to the quality of care by the healthcare watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC). "I just wanted to pass on my thanks, as I know how stretched the NHS is and people are quick to complain. But I wanted to express my gratitude at the excellent service I received. Not only from my doctors surgery in Edenfield , but from the staff at the Phoenix Centre when I attended an out of hours appointment last Tuesday.

I've moved recently from Stretford and found it very difficult to get an appointment with no real help apart from " go to a walk in centre". Your service should be commended and I wanted to say you've got some great staff working for you and I only know her as Janet. Her quality of service and empathy was a refreshing change!"

“A short note to say a big “thank you” for the kind gesture made towards my 92 year old father (John Allen). You treated him at the Peterloo out of hours clinic last Monday in Middleton. Despite having arranged transport (which failed to turn up), he then experienced difficulty in organising a taxi to take him home. You, however, very kindly took him back home in your own car. The whole family were very moved by this gesture and wanted to thank you personally.”
