Welcome to GP Care Services

Local, community care and support is at the root of all we do. Every process we create, every decision we make is with patients in mind.

Every day we work to make care within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale accessible for all patients. We respond to each patient as an individual, and treat everyone with dignity and respect.

Our goal is to build community relationships. We work to ensure GPs have more time and knowledge on how best to treat you. How? We introduced more support services such as:

- 7 day access to GP appointments providing evening, weekend and bank holiday appointments

- A partnership with integrated Neighbourhood Care Teams

- GP Care support to ensure local GP locum cover is easy and hassle free

- A partnership with Intermediate Tier Services

- Domiciliary and Paediatric phlebotomy

Our services strengthen GP and patient relations. We offer expertise and care at the heart of the community to give patients a greater sense of well being.

Farewell our Chair of the Board

As we move into 2018 we welcome Dr Saj Azfar as the new Chairman for GP Care:

I am proud to have been elected to succeed Dr Hussain as Chairman of GP Care Services Ltd and would like to formally thank him for his dedication and loyalty to the company and his mentorship of myself throughout my time on the board of directors. We all look forward to working with him as a board member in the future.

GP Care has undergone a rapid phase of growth recently; restructured its board and made large investments in securing new business. My first role as chair will be to ensure we consolidate and optimise our current activities for maximum benefits of our patients, clients and ultimately our shareholders.  I will also be working with the new board to develop a 5 year road map for the future of the company, which will take us into our next phase of growth as a key player in primary health and social care provision.

We would all like to say a huge thank you and fond farewell to our preceding Chairman, Dr Musharraf Hussain.

Our Testimonials

One patient said:

“Today I took my little girl to have bloods at Kingsway clinic. Jeanette was the lady who made the whole experience one to be shared [...] I can hand on heart praise your paediatric blood service. Yes, my little girl had a massive meltdown as she did last week, but Jeanette was brilliant and able to get some bloods.

I would really like to thank you all again especially Jeanette for making a massive difference today to my little girl, and instilling confidence in myself that there are professionals out there who are very child centred. Thank you. Please feel free to forward this email to Jeanette to remind her what a fabulous she is doing with our children.”

Another patient said:

“A short note to say a big “thank you” for the kind gesture made towards my 92 year old father (John Allen). You treated him at the Peterloo out of hours clinic last Monday in Middleton. Despite having arranged transport (which failed to turn up), he then experienced difficulty in organising a taxi to take him home. You, however, very kindly took him back home in your own car. The whole family were very moved by this gesture and wanted to thank you personally.”

Another patient said:

"I was on holiday in Portugal, fell and fractured my hip. They brought me back to the UK to Wolstenholme. I've been here a week & would like to say what a lovely friendly ward, nothing is too much trouble for the staff & the food is wonderful. If all the NHS was run like this it would be great."

One patient said:

"I just wanted to pass on my thanks, as I know how stretched the NHS is and people are quick to complain. But I wanted to express my gratitude at the excellent service I received. Not only from my doctors surgery in Edenfield , but from the staff at the Phoenix Centre when I attended an out of hours appointment last Tuesday.

I've moved recently from Stretford and found it very difficult to get an appointment with no real help apart from " go to a walk in centre". Your service should be commended and I wanted to say you've got some great staff working for you and I only know her as Janet. Her quality of service and empathy was a refreshing change!"
